Released earlier this week, Black Myth: Wukong has made waves around the world. The Chinese-based action-RPG story has reached millions of players in a short time. It managed to sell 10 million copies in just 5 days.
Black Myth: Wukong reaches 10 million players
It launched on Monday via Steam, Epic Games Store and WeGame. According to developer GameScience, Wukong has already sold over 10 million units on PC and PlayStation 5.
GameScience also announced that the game has reached over 3 million concurrent players. On Steam alone, it set a new high, surpassing 2 million concurrent players. This made Black Myth the most played single-player game in Steam history and the second most played game on the platform.
Black Myth’s success is actually made more curious by the fact that it’s not coming to Xbox. Microsoft has stated that the game will come to Xbox Series X/S “at a later date”. However, it still didn’t reveal if there was an exclusive deal between the developer and Sony.
Considering that the game is available on Steam, the Epic Games Store and consoles, it’s safe to say that Game Science is now officially printing money. Expansion packs and a sequel are already in the works, possibly crowning the game’s success.
